Netgear DM200 compatibility

FezVrasta

Kérdés

Hi, I'm sorry but I don't speak Hungarian unfortunately.

I'm having problems with the Telekom provided VDSL2 modem (the ZTE H368N) because it reboots by itself and from what I read online, it only supports up to 70-80 mbit/s while my connection should be able to reach 100mbit/s.

Telekom already replaced it few weeks ago, but I'm still having the same problems. So, I ordered a Netgear DM200 modem hoping to replace the ZTE one, but I can't get it to connect to internet.

I inserted the username and password that are setup in the ZTE modem and tried to mimic all the ZTE settings, but it still is unable to connect.

Does anyone know how to make this modem work? Or if there's a way to get a better modem directly from Telekom?

Thank you.

@FezVrasta

I guess also this is the problem. This modem does not support bonding.

This line does not work without bonding, because there is 33mbps in one line.

Your internet speed reduction comes from that you are too far dslam. Another modem will not be able to help it. Your line speed is max 75mbps with two dsl lines. This is beyond the guaranteed value.

Your line seems stable, based on the data you send, though not the best, but it's pretty good. But if we want to know more, we should look for longer it. We should be there when the error occurs. We can not do this through the forum sadly.

Ask the Telekom to replace the HGW device. If it does not solved the problem, ask a line check or wire replacement. The problem should be able to solve from this. A closer link to dslam could solve the speed problem

Hi @FezVrasta

Sorry my poor English

Please drop your dsl info datas into this forum, how we can to see that, there is or there is not a problem with your dsl line.
You can find it on webbased administrative interface of ZTE.

If this netgear modem supports vdsl2, AnnexJ, bonding technology and if you use pppoe connection type on wan interface of this ordered modem, you should be able to connect to the Internet but you can not use voipbased wirephone and iptv services

Telekom can give you only same type HGW becouse this type HGW supports only the dual-dsl line connections wich needed for your 100mbps connection

But how is it possible that the Telekom modem restarts by itself or loses connection all together weekly?

Also, every day I have to restart it because I can't surf the web anymore (some websites don't resolve / DNS problem, I already tried to use a different DNS, e.g. Google 8.8.8.8).

Do you think something can be done to at least have the line to be stable? Thanks!
