I have a gigabit fiber plan from Telekom contracted since May 2025, and recently (February 2026) the connection has been unstable in most of my daily usage. For example, I play World of Warcraft and there are random periods of time (usually in the afternoon or evening) where there are huge lag spikes (50000ms latency), rendering the game unplayable, which last for 2-4 minutes until it goes back. It happens a few times in an hour until it stabilizes, but there isn't a single day where this doesn't happen.
And then there's the issue with Discord as well, I try to talk to them on voice on Discord and every time I'm connected to a Brazil or EU server, the same thing happens as described above: lag surges, everyone's voice becomes robotized, I get disconnected and reconnected between 5-10 times in 3-4 minutes. For example, right now I'm on Discord talking to them and this issue has happened 4 times in the last 20 minutes.
The interesting thing is, for Discord, if I change the server to US South, I don't have these lag problems. It's only on the EU or Brazil servers that this happens. There's also no latency issues or packet loss.
I also tried changing DNS settings on my router, using Cloudflare's or even Quad9, but it doesn't help at all.
EDIT: I've just attached a Cloudflare speed test when this issue happened just now. The jitter had a spike, as you can see. Compared to a normal result, jitter should be down to sub 10ms.
